FLAIR at the London Stock Exchange

On 5th of October 2026 FLAIR takes its place at the London Stock Exchange.

Honoured to join global leaders, policymakers, and change-makers at the London Stock Exchange @LSEGplc for the FLAIR Global Summit. Unlocking cross-border partnerships, economic inclusion, and driving transformative impact across Africa and the diaspora.

We are delighted to mark a special moment in the FLAIR Summit 2026 programme with the FLAIR Market Close — bringing together distinguished leaders and partners for an afternoon of connection, recognition and meaningful engagement.

A significant moment for FLAIR 2026 — and a fitting reflection of our commitment to women’s leadership, economic opportunity and Africa’s future.

Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the London Stock Exchange.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to LSEG as we celebrate the First Ladies of Africa Impact & Resilience Summit and host so many distinguished guests, leaders and partners this evening.

I would like to extend a special welcome to Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE, Founder of FLAIR; Her Excellency Dr Joyce Kithure Kindiki EGH, Second Lady of Kenya, and distinguished representative of the First Ladies delegation; Mrs Electina Wasike Wanyonyi and all our guests joining us from across Africa and the UK.

The theme of this year’s Summit, “Women Leading Africa’s Transformation: From Vision to Action”, recognises the importance of leadership that not only inspires change but delivers meaningful impact.

Having just marked the close of the trading day, it feels particularly fitting to gather here. Every day, markets connect people, capital and opportunity. At their best, they help drive growth, support innovation and enable economies to prosper.

Today’s discussions have highlighted a similar message. Progress happens when people come together around a common purpose, create opportunities for others and turn ambition into action.

Across Africa, women leaders continue to play a vital role in driving economic growth, strengthening communities and shaping the future. Through leadership, advocacy and partnership, they are opening doors for others and creating opportunities that extend far beyond their own organisations and countries.

At LSEG, we believe sustainable growth is strongest when more people have the opportunity to participate in it. We also know that meaningful progress rarely happens in isolation. It happens through collaboration, partnership and a shared commitment to building a better future.

That is why gatherings like this matter. They bring together leaders from different sectors, experiences and perspectives to share ideas, strengthen connections and help create lasting impact.

This evening is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the remarkable women represented here, and to look ahead to what can be accomplished when vision is matched by action.

On behalf of LSEG, I would like to thank Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE, the FLAIR team and Wintrade for bringing this important Summit together, and thank all of you for joining us this evening.

I hope you enjoy the reception and the conversations to come.

Thank you.
